Several years ago, Jeff Sanders, a close friend and fly fishing partner, introduced me to Glenn Overton, originator of Overton’s Wonder Wax. I’ve had the good fortune to have stayed in touch with Glenn and have also been the recipient of some wonderful insights and information from him. With Glenn’s permission, I’ll be sharing some of this material over the next few months.
In the mid 1980’s, Glenn prepared a report of his test findings for Tiemco hooks. His background in metallurgy and testing techniques offered a fly fisherman’s view on how to improve some existing designs. Glenn’s complete testing results along with Tiemco’s response, can be viewed by downloading the pdf using the link at left.
Stay tuned for some of Glenn’s fly patterns and tying tricks in up coming posts.
Drop me an email for Glenn’s contact information. He did say to let everyone know in advance that he’s “given all his wax away and there’s none left” : >)
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.
Cheers,
Bruce
